About Me
Mahtab Shariatkhah
I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition Science and am a certified holistic nutrition health coach. I received my certification from Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN). During my training, I studied over 100 dietary theories, practical lifestyle management techniques, and innovative coaching methods with some of the world’s top health and wellness experts. My approach is not to concentrate on strict calories nor persistent diets. Instead, I will work together with my clients to create a happy, healthy, and rewarding change in lifestyle choices, to enforce a better outcome that meets their needs and desires.
I am a dietitian who has worked in hospitals and also in a corporate with a team of dietitians. I always gave my clients a healthy diet plan but that only addressed the symptom, not the root cause of their health issue. Many suffered with medical issues, such as diabetes, asthma, allergies, high cholesterol, or high blood pressure which certainly required stricter dietary consideration. But improved diet alone did not bring them to a state of good health. This was a source of frustration to me because I have a passion to help people to have a sustainable happy and healthy life. Nutrition and Health Coaching allows me to address health more holistically.

IIN is a highly recognized nutrition school specializing in primary foods, secondary foods, and bio-individuality.
- Primary Foods - elements to nourish and fulfill our mental and spiritual selves. It’s not the food on the plate; it is all of the other factors present in our daily lives, such as, healthy relationships, fulfilling careers, regular physical activity and spiritual awareness. These are essential forms of nourishment.
- Secondary Foods - the foods on the plate, a whole food, from eating the right food for your body and for living an inspired fulfilling life.
- Bio-individuality - Each person has a unique food and lifestyle need. One person's food can be another's poison.
